ACT Manitoba is a provincially funded, volunteer organization, registered as a Canadian Charity, with a mandate to support amateur theatre and amateur performing arts in Manitoba.

Membership is open to all amateur theatre groups in Manitoba and member groups benefit from access to services; funding for theatre development and training; and participation in provincially-offered activities and the annual provincial performing arts festival ACTFEST.

Greener Pastures

ACT Manitoba would like to acknowledge the service of outgoing Directors Rhonda Kennedy Rogers and Robert Martin.  Rhonda joined the Board in 2018 and served two terms as director; she was instrumental in helping to develop ACT's marketing profile, and has recently taken over the reins at Shoestring Players.  Robert joined in 2020 and served one term on the board but is currently directing his first play with Portage Players.

ACT Annual General Meeting

ACT Manitoba 2021/22 Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday, October 23rd 2022  at the Prairie Drama Academy in Portage La Prairie.  Elected to the board as Directors were Peter Lovering with Pinawa Players and our former President Anthony Ducharme with A-Spire Players.  Membership voted to retain fees at $150 per member group and agreed that for the 3rd year in a row fees will be returned in order to alleviate groups of additional costs while they bounce back from the effects of Covid on their membership and activities.

ACT MB Common Forms and Documents - NEW MENU OPTION

As previously posted, the Board adopted Dropbox as it’s primary archival system for storing copies of all of ACT’s electronic documents.  By maintaining and accessing the documents online, the Board hopes to eliminate carrying and distributing binders of information and years of archival documents, while still providing the most recent versions of items to those that need them.  You can now view the folder of documents under the SERVICES / FORMS & DOCUMENTS tab on the menu above or the previously provided link at ACT MB Common Forms & Documents.
