  ACT Manitoba is a provincially funded, volunteer organization, registered as a Canadian Charity, with a mandate to support amateur theatre and amateur performing arts in Manitoba.

Membership is open to all amateur theatre groups in Manitoba and member groups benefit from access to services; funding for theatre development and training; and participation in provincially-offered activities and the annual provincial performing arts festival ACTFEST.

Winter Newsletter Deadline

ACTFest 2020
Shoestring Players are already hard at work planning the 41st "ACTFest" Provincial Drama Festival scheduled for May 1-3, 2020 in Winnipeg.  More details will be provided as they become available.


ACT Manitoba says goodbye to long-time webmaster
With great regret, the board of ACT Manitoba said goodbye to long-time webmaster John Tait at the recent Annual General Meeting on October 20th, 2019.  President Judy Arnason thanked John Tait for his 25 years of service as the Webmaster.  He was instrumental in the establishment of our on-line presence and had taken such great care maintaining the website. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours!  Break a leg!

ACT Board Members returned for 2nd Term
At the ACT Manitoba Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on on Sunday, October 20th at the Asper Centre for Theatre & Film,  Board President Judy Arnason, Vice-President Anthony Ducharme, Secretary Alice Young and Regional Representative Myrna Tiede were aclaimed to their positions, each for a 2nd, two-year term.  Also at the AGM, a Synopsis of 2018-2019 and Direction for 2019-2020 were reviewed and the Financial Reports for 2018-2019 and the Proposed budget for 2019-2020 were accepted.
